Can I erase encrypted storages?
Depending on the type, encrypted storages can be erased, or require lock removal beforehand.
Microsoft BitLocker
Securaze Remote detects and removes Microsoft BitLocker before erasure.
A successful performance of Securaze Work depends on the type of encryption Microsoft BitLocker uses.
If internal encryption of the storage is used by BitLocker, it will be removed during erasure automatically. If it uses external / other hardware based encryption, the erasure will fail.
Other Hardware Encryption
For standard compliant OPAL, Securaze Work doesn't have a way to automatically erase it, because read/write access to the storage is denied.
Operators need to unlock the OPAL locked devices manually, with the 10 or more digits password printed on the storage.
