Dell computer freezes after booting Securaze Work on it

Some Dell devices are known to freeze after you boot Securaze Work on them - here's what to do.

The common issue happening on some Dell devices, such as Dell E6420s or Dell E5470 occurs due to them having older Firmware, like Firmware 1.4.7, which can cause errors in booting up Securaze Work.

We found that the best solution to this problem is to update your Firmware to the newest available version and then retry using Securaze on such computer. Please find the instructions how to update the specific model on the Dell Support website.

The alternative is to boot Securaze Work from a USB stick and choose the boot option "Safe resolution, no RAID support". But even using that workaround, the unfreeze of the disk can fail and the chance of failed erasure is also higher than normal.
