Onboard RAIDs
Enabled Onboard RAID will in most cases prevent the detection of storages. What can you do?
Onboard RAIDs
RAID (redundant array of independent disks) controller is a hardware device or software program used to manage hard disk drives (HDDs) or solid-state drives (SSD, NVME) in a computer or storage array, so they work as a logical unit.
The so called Onboard RAIDs are integrated on motherboards of some devices and allow the users to build RAIDs with their home or business machines, without the need of a dedicated RAID controller.
Some vendors choose to enable Onboard RAIDs as a default setting on some of their models. One of them is e.g. Dell Latitude 5410, or similar models.
Securaze Work will not be able to detect the presence of the Onboard RAID, and also won't be able to detect the storage itself, as long as the Onboard RAID is enabled.
Therefore, the operator/user is required to disable the Onboard RAID in the machine BIOS/EFI and change the SATA Mode from "RAID On" to "AHCI".
After enabling the AHCI mode, Securaze Work is able to access and erase the existing storages.
