  1. While the device is turned off, insert a working SIM card

  2. Power on the device, and connect to WiFi network when asked

  3. Complete the phone setup and wait until you are on home screen

  4. Go to Settings, scroll down until you see Xiaomi Account, and tap on that.

  5. If you already have an active Xiaomi account, enter your credentials and click on “Sign in” button.

    If you do not have a Xiaomi account, click on “Create an account” button. Select your Country/Region, enter your email address and a password. It needs to be a working email address. Check the checkbox that you agree with the terms of use. Then, click on “Create an account”. You will be asked to complete a reCAPTCHA verification that you are not a robot. Once completed, you will receive a verification code to the email address you used to create the account. Enter this code into the provided field and click on “Next”. You have now successfully create a Xiaomi account that can be used on all devices you are processing.

  6. Go back to Settings, and tap on “About phone” entry.

    Find the Build version / OS version.

  7. Tap 7 times on it to activate the Developer mode. You will see a message displayed once it is activated.

  8. Go back to Settings, and scroll down until you see “Additional settings”. Tap on that.

  9. Scroll down and tap on “Developer options”.

  10. Enable the following items:
    - USB debugging
    - Install via USB
    - USB debugging (Security settings)

    You will be asked to confirm if you are sure you want to enable USB debugging. Confirm you are aware of the risks and click on OK after 10 seconds pass.

  11. Disable the following items:
    - Verify apps over USB

  12. Connect the phone to your Securaze Mobile station. Allow USB debugging request, and check the box for “Always allow from this computer”. Then click “OK”.

  13. Allow installation over USB:
    Select “Remember my choice” and click on “Install”

  14. While the application is being installed, from the upper part of the screen, drag your finger down, to see notifications. There, you will see USB connection notification. Tap on it to select “File transfer / Android auto” option.

  15. Enable overlay permission:

    When you click “OK”, Settings for “Display over other apps” will appear, with the list of available applications. Scroll down and click on SecurazeMobile.

    Toggle the option to Allow display over other apps:

  16. Go back, and you will be on the Securaze Mobile application screen. Once ready, you can diagnose and erase the device on your Securaze Mobile station.
